The truth about lead-free soldering

"California may ban conventional lightbulbs by 2012" by john@rohsusa.com on January 31, 2007, 12:04 pm, in category Environmental impact issues
At last - a positive banning of something in electronics which will positively benefit the environment.

A Californian Assemblyman Lloyd Levine is proposing legislation to ban the use of "conventional" incandescent lighbulbs in California by 2012 in favour of the newer energy efficient compact flourescent variety.

Now THAT is a positive banning of something in electronics which the EU would be well advised to take note of and emulate.

If the EU were to ban conventional lightbulbs it might go some way to offset the environmental impact that the lead free solder replacements are inflicting on the enviromnment.
